Importing accounts and transactions from MoneyBrilliant

Easily import your accounts, transactions, and categorisation from MoneyBrilliant using our custom import tool.

PocketSmith has a range of tools that make moving from other Personal Finance Management apps a breeze. Use the custom MoneyBrilliant importer to upload your transactional data directly into PocketSmith, meaning all your accounts and categorisation will be imported ✨

Important

When importing data from another app, we recommend using a fresh PocketSmith account to avoid creating duplicate bank accounts.

If you have just started your PocketSmith journey and already have some data in your account, it's best to reset your PocketSmith before attempting to import data from your previous Personal finance management app.

For details on restarting your account, see: Options for resetting your PocketSmith account.

Exporting your accounts and transactions from MoneyBrilliant

MoneyBrilliant has closed down, and it's no longer possible to sign in to their app to export data. However, if you downloaded your data into an XLSX file before MoneyBrilliant closed, you can import this file into PocketSmith.

Importing your MoneyBrilliant file into your PocketSmith account

Once you've created your PocketSmith account, you're all set to get your MoneyBrilliant data imported. The MoneyBrilliant import tool allows you to upload your XLSX file to PocketSmith, recreating all your accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, labels, and notes.

  1. From the Welcome page, Select Start here from the Upload your data option
  1. Then select MOVE FROM ANOTHER APP
  1. Select MoneyBrilliant from the selection of custom import tools
  1. Drag-and-drop your MoneyBrilliant XLSX file directly onto the page, or click Choose file to select the file from your computer.
  1. Follow the steps outlined by the custom import tool to complete uploading your data to PocketSmith 🙌
