Grouped accounts: An introduction

Check this guide out for information on grouping accounts in PocketSmith, when it is recommended, when it isn’t and some tips and tricks.

When we do recommend grouping accounts together

We recommend that users group accounts together for old and closed accounts. This way, you can keep their transaction history in your PocketSmith but hide them from view.

For more information on how to set this up, please follow this guide: Archiving and keeping transactions for old accounts.

When we don't recommend grouping accounts together

We don't generally recommend grouping actively used accounts for a few reasons.

This said, PocketSmith is highly customisable, and we encourage our users to use their PocketSmith in a way that best suits them, so it is possible to do so. If you decide you would like to group actively used accounts despite our general recommendation, then we have some caveats and tips to help.

For more information on this, please see: Grouping accounts: Caveats and tips.

Dashboard tip: Alternative to grouping accounts

If you are wanting to view certain accounts together e.g. Savings accounts or Joint accounts, you can use the Accounts list widget from the customisable Dashboard to do this without needing to group them.

For more information on this, please see: Tips using the accounts list widget.
