Tips for the Bill reminder widget

Bill categories

For a budget category to be included in Bill reminders, the category needs to be set up as a bill category. To learn how to do this, please see: Setting up bill and scheduled income categories.

Sum totals

Each section of the widget will show a sum total for the included bills.

Bill reminder showing overdue despite being already paid

A bill may appear overdue because it was paid early, before the category budget was repeated.

Bill reminders expect a bill to be paid on or after the day that the budget repeats - the bill reminders feature is based completely on your budgets.

For more information on this, please see: Bill reminders dashboard widget - bill showing as overdue.

Adding a grace period for bills that will be paid within a few days of their due date

If you have a bill that may be paid slightly after the due date due to weekends delaying the payment, or transactions taking a few days to show up, you can add a 'grace period' of X number of days.

During the grace period, the bills will show as upcoming rather than overdue. For more on this, see: Setting up bill and scheduled income categories.

Multi-currency in the Bill reminder widget

If you have accounts from different currencies included in your Bill reminder widget, your multi-currency settings will be respected.

For example, if you do not have the option ‘Show amounts in base currency instead of native where possible’ selected, the figures shown will match the currency of the account:

If you have the option ‘Show amounts in base currency instead of native where possible’ selected, then the figures shown will be converted to match the base currency of your account. In this example, the base currency is NZD so all AUD figures have been converted:
