The closing balances option on the Income & Expense report shows the combined balances for the selected accounts at the end of the period you are viewing.
Closing balances show the actual balances for the current and past periods, as well as forecasted balances for past and future periods.
Example
You are viewing an Income & Expense report for the month of April. This report includes 2 accounts.
- One account has a balance of $1,000 at the end 30 April
- The other account has a balance $5,000 at the end of 30 April.
The closing balance shown on the Income & Expense report will be $6,000.
How to show or hide closing balances
- Click on the Show closing balances toggle in the sidebar
- The closing balances will show at the bottom of the Income & Expense report.
