Mortgages: Duplicate loans or debts

If you've noticed that your mortgage or loan accounts are doubled up on the Net Worth report, you may have inadvertently duplicated your loan by adding it as a bank account and as an associated loan debt.

Not to worry - this is easy to fix. It's best to delete the associated loan debt and leave the loan account in place.

Delete Associated Debts

To delete the associated debts:

  1. Head to the Net Worth (Reports > Net Worth) page and click on the associated Asset
  2. Select Manage money owing from the left menu
  3. Under Net worth debt accounts, navigate to the associated debt and click 'Remove', then SAVE

  4. Your duplicate debt should now be removed 😌

Note

If your loan account and associated loan debt have the same name, it's best to rename the associated debt first to ensure you delete the debt and not just unlink the bank account.

To rename the associated debt, click on your Asset, then 'Manage money owing', and edit the name under 'Net worth debt accounts' so that it is distinguishable from the loan account.
